cortec3VpCIs are vapour phase corrosion inhibitors that form a molecular layer on the surfaces of ferrous and non-ferrous metals and thus provide reliable protection against the corrosive effects of humidity, SO2 and H2S.

The corrosion inhibitors provide temporary corrosion protection, do not change the structure or properties of the material, and after the VpCI package or other source is removed they will volatilize from the protected surface and the protected part can be further finished in any way or used with no change.

  • Volatile particles migrate to all hardly accessible areas and cavities.
  • VpCIs are active for at least 24 months. By sealing the package properly effective protection for up to 5 years can be achieved.

Cortec Corporation´s products can provide long-term, medium-term or long-term corrosion protection to your products. The company has developed an entirely new generation of volatile corrosion inhibitors (VCI), the so-called VpCI (Vapor phase Corrosion Inhibitor). The uniqueness of this new technology consists in the increased pressure of inhibitors which expulses water and air molecules from the surface of the product packaged.

 VpCI-130 Impregnated Foams
Dimensions range of PU foams impregnated with a gaseous corrosion inhibitor for multi-metal protection. They can be used as a flexible package or another inhibitor carrier inside the package.
 VpCI-105 Plastic Capsules
Desiccation and then protection by gaseous corrosion inhibitors. Plastic capsules with an evaporating corrosion inhibitor and a breathable membrane. Suitable especially for the protection of electrical equipment.

Breathable Pouches
Breathable pouches with a corrosion inhibitor. Inside a sealed package they provide the corrosion protection of metallic and non-metallic materials for up to 24 months.
 CorPak Tablets  Tablets Contain gaseous corrosion inhibitors suitable for multi-metal protection. Inserting into cartons, bags, and packages of small sizes.

 


  • Curring Agents

CORTEC curing systems protect metal surfaces against corrosive attacks not only by creating a barrier preventing oxygen and corrosive substances access, but also by active acting of VpCI (VCI) corrosion inhibitors contained in these agents. They provide the effective protection of external and internal surfaces and mechanical parts during storage, shut-downs, and operation. Protective barrier products are water-, oil-, or solvent-based and can form many types of protection surfaces. By combining these products and VpCI-126 anti-corrosion film you will achieve a very effective solution of the corrosion protection of a material and its package. 

 Product  Description
 VpCI-238 Electri Corr Corrosion protection of electrical and electronic equipment during operation and shut-downs. This curing agent is designed for use in a closed or outdoor room.
 VpCI-325 Vegetable oil based curing agent that expels perfectly and reliably water out of the metal surface, is designed for glossy surfaces and surfaces of low roughness, forms a durable film, provides corrosion protection, and serves simultaneously as excellent lubricant.
 VpCI-337 Liquid concentrate for internal spaces that forms the anticorrosion environment in containers, transport boxes, or crates. Suitable for the protection of stack or coiled sheet edges.
 VpCI-368 One of the coatings of the highest quality that provides the corrosion protection of metals exposed to severe outdoor climatic conditions. It leaves an UV radiation resisting, compact wax coating.
 VpCI-369 Designed for the outdoor environment, leaves a translucent, oily film on the surface that is self-healing and provides the effective multi-metal protection in the long-term conservation of the material. It is applied as a coating or an oil additive.
 VpCI-372 Easily removable water-based anti-corrosion coating that dries out to leave a touch dry rubber surface, provides protection not only against atmospheric corrosion, but also against mechanical damage to the surface during storage and transportation.
 VpCI-377 Water-based concentrate usable as a replacement of oil-based curing agents. It leaves a hydrophobic dry transparent film. The wide range of concentrations of its solution allows you to modify flexibly the duration of corrosion protection.
 VpCI-388 Temporary water-based coating that is a suitable choice for corrosion protection for up to 36 months in the indoor environment or for storage for app. 6 months in the case of outdoor applications. It leaves a clear and tough dry film on the surface.
 VpCI-389 Temporary corrosion protection water-based coating suitable for the protection of outdoor stored products. It leaves a translucent, waxy layer on the surface that becomes hard in time. It is suitable for long-term protection (up to 5 years).

  • Powder Curing Agents

Powder products with CORTEC VpCI inhibitors provide corrosion protection in closed large-capacity spaces. After application they evaporate gradually and protect vessels, tanks, piping, etc. insides against corrosion for up to 24 months.

Product  Description 
 VpCI-308 Water-soluble powder with a biodegradable corrosion inhibitor. It is designed for the corrosion protection of ferrous and non-ferrous metals.
 VpCI-309 Powder with a corrosion inhibitor. It is designed for the corrosion protection of ferrous metals in the dry. It is suitable for corrosion protection after hydrostatic testing.
 VpCI-609 Water-soluble powder with a corrosion inhibitor. It is designed for the corrosion protection of ferrous metals and aluminium in the wet or dry.

  • Cleaners and Degreasers

Degreasers with CORTEC VpCI corrosion inhibitors will help you to eliminate the lightning-shaped surface corrosion of metal surfaces after cleaning. They contain corrosion inhibitors and after the surface that is susceptible to corrosion is decreased they protect the metal against corrosion for up to 6 months. The compositions of all these agents have been stated with respect to safe and multi-purpose use. They are water- and natural substance-based and therefore biodegradable, non-toxic, and non-combustible.

 

Product  Description 
 VpCI-411 Designed for demanding industrial and commercial applications. It is suitable for parts of machines, tools, office equipment, and bench tops and desks. It is biodegradable and decomposable, is sweet with a citrus.
 VpCI-414 Cleaner and degreaser designed to remove temporary protective coatings from metal surfaces. It can also be used for removing waxes, oils, lubricants, and difficult to remove contaminants.
 VpCI-415 Alkaline cleaner and degreaser that is also effective at low temperatures. It can provide corrosion protection during indoor storage for up to 6 months. It is able to meet the aircraft industry´s requirements for cleaning and corrosion protection.
 VpCI-416 Highly effective alkaline agent that effectively neutralizes metal surfaces after acid cleaning or pickling. It also provides corrosion protection for up to 6 months in storage in buildings. In the scouring bath it is also effective at low temperatures.

  • Rust Removers

CORTEC rust removers are based on organic chemicals that remove oxides and iron, copper, brass, and aluminium stains. These rust removers replace acids. If directions for use are followed, they are not harmful even to human skin.

Product  Description 
 VpCI-422 Environmentally friendly and biodegradable organic rust remover, containing corrosion inhibitors, that is effective for removing rust and tarnish layers from ferrous and non-ferrous metals and that effectively removes rust from steel, iron, copper, brass, chrome, and aluminium.
It is not harmful to human skin and does not harm paints, plastics, and rubbers. It is fully organic and 100% biodegradable and no special waste storage is required. Thanks to these properties the agent is usable for outdoor applications where possible contamination would be a defect.
 VpCI-423 VpCI-422 equivalent, available as a gel, for use on vertical or horizontally suspended surfaces. 

 

  • Anti-Corrosion Additives

This technology of anti-corrosion additives allows adding corrosion inhibitors to paints, water treatment agents, plastics, elastomers, adhesives, working fluids, etc. These are in particular inhibitors for paints, oxygen traps, inhibitors for cooling and condensing lines, anti-corrosion additives for acid solutions and hot pickling bathes, anti-incrustators, anti-foaming agents, heating system sludge solvents, diluents, etc.
